The Recognition of Foreign Qualifications (Anerkennung)
The process of "Anerkennung" in Germany refers to the official recognition of professional and educational qualifications acquired abroad. This is especially important for individuals from non-EU countries who wish to work or continue their vocational development in Germany.
Recognition ensures that foreign qualifications are evaluated against German standards. It allows skilled workers to access regulated professions, apply for appropriate positions, and receive fair compensation for their level of training. Without recognition, even highly qualified individuals may face barriers in entering the German labor market.
The Anerkennung process is handled by different authorities depending on the profession and the federal state. It typically involves comparing the foreign qualification with the corresponding German reference occupation and may result in full recognition, partial recognition (with additional training required), or no recognition.
For vocational professions, successful recognition can be a prerequisite for joining dual vocational training programs or employment contracts. It enhances the chances of integration, career growth, and obtaining a residence or work permit in Germany.
Foreign applicants are encouraged to begin the Anerkennung process even before arriving in Germany, as it may take several weeks or months to complete.
Min-Requirments:
To work or continue your professional development in Germany with a foreign qualification, you must go through the process of "Anerkennung" (recognition).
This ensures your diploma or vocational training is officially accepted as equivalent to German standards. Below are the basic requirements needed to start this process.
A copy of the foreign diploma or vocational qualification certificate, translated into French or Arabic.
A detailed transcript or curriculum of the completed training or studies.
An official request for recognition submitted to the relevant Tunisian authority or professional body.
Proof of identity (national ID card or passport).
Payment of administrative fees (if applicable).
In some cases, an equivalency certificate or additional training may be requested for full recognition.
Questions about services
How long does the placement process take at Aqwa Studies?
It largely depends on the area in which someone is placed. The process can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks. However, we strive to ensure a quick placement and work diligently to expedite the process as much as possible.
Can I choose which region I would like to live in later?
Unfortunately, this is not possible, as it would limit our processes and could lead to longer wait times. We want to ensure that the process runs as efficiently as possible for all parties involved.
Do I need a blocked account for the apprenticeship?
Just like in Tunisia, you will be paid during your apprenticeship in Germany. The German government requires a minimum salary to ensure your livelihood (you can find more information about this under Service). For this reason, a blocked account is not required.
Is there a guarantee for obtaining a visa?
In general, there is no guarantee for the issuance of a visa, as it depends on many different factors. Therefore, we cannot provide a guarantee. However, we work with the utmost care and have successfully obtained approval for every visa application so far.
